Recently we have noticed what seems to be incorrect tracking of links clicked in emails that we have been sending out. Recently we sent out an email with three tracked links to our website and one tracked link that goes to the HubSpot meeting scheduler. There was a high volume of clicks on the meeting scheduled link, which we got excited about, but not a single person actually scheduled a meeting. Taking a closer look, all of these links were clicked at exactly 9:21am. Is this an issue within the HubSpot link tracking? We use the Click rate as a measurement of success, but it does not seem like HubSpot is accurately tracking this at the moment. Has anyone had any similar issues?
Hi @WYork!
This made me wonder if you’ve followed these steps to attempt to limit bot traffic from impacting your stats.
Exclude traffic from your site analytics (hubspot.com)
Hubspot has an ongoing battle to identity bot traffic from email providers, firewalls, and other security scanners. Sometimes a new one appears and it gets overlooked for a time but then gets better.
Let us know if there’s more detail you can provide about the issue.
Ensure that the tracking code for link clicks is implemented correctly on your website. Double-check the JavaScript code or tag manager setup to make sure it is capturing link clicks properly.
