Our company does not include one-time charges in Annual Contract Value. By HubSpot’s own definition, ACV “is not an industry standard metric”, and varies between companies. However, HubSpot calculates one-time charges in their ACV. After spending an hour discussing with their exceptionally slow AI, support finally confirmed that calculating one-time charges in ACV is intended, not an error, and there is no way to natively change this. I was unable to find in documentation where the actual calculation is, and whether it includes one-time products… just “the value of the deal over a 12-month period”, “in the deal’s currency, if your HubSpot account uses more than one currency”. (I suppose one could assume, by the description in my first link, if it is “total contract value”, it by default includes recurring; but this is a blog post, not even the knowledge base.)
(Yes, I am aware you can put in a manually calculated field. It will not show on the metrics bar, as I understand, and does not wholly address my issue.)
For a variety of reasons, having what is an unused calculation showing to our team creates confusion and sprouts a narrative that our data is “wrong”--when it is calculating correctly, and we just do not use it.
As such, it would be exceptionally helpful if one or both of the below were implemented:
- Enable a toggle between how Annual Contract Value is calculated: inclusive of one-time charges or not. Similar to how Deal Amount can be toggled
- Enable hiding specific metrics on the line-item screen
- Hide all is not the answer; we would need to toggle each of these individually.
