Limiting the Stage of Newly Created Deals

I have chatted with support and this seems to be a product limitation.

Hopefully, Hubspot will consider this simple but powerful fix. If not, I’m wondering if anyone has any workarounds to this problem:

Say our pipeline has 2 stages and the “Amount” property is a required field in order to move an existing deal into stage 2.

But Hubspot allows a deal to be placed directly into ANY Stage in the pipeline upon creation - which allows deals to end up in stage 2 with the “Amount” property empty.

It would be extremely useful to give us the option to limit the stage that a newly created deal can be placed into. It’s frustrating to spend hours creating pipeline filters to control the progression of a deal only to have it all busted by user error in the deal creation form.

You’re correct, this can currently not be prevented. I agree that this would be a useful feature and other users have requested the same: Restrict Which Stages Deals Can Be Created In
