Our MSAs with multiple companies say on a need to know basis only as far as sharing any customer data. We are talking about having more people have access to Hubspot and also storing more information within Hubspot so we may need to create additional guidelines or restrict access to data for particular customers to specific people within Hubspot rather than everyone with access to Hubspot being able to see everything.
Does anyone have experience with this? Does Hubspot have private / restricted access within it?
Hi @MSodnicar,
Yes, HubSpot lets you specify which contact / company records a user should be able to see, see the “Object Access” section here: HubSpot user permissions guide
Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!
This is great for now - thanks Karsten!
@MSodnicar , let’s talk about setting up who can see which records and all that jazz. It’s all about user configuration and security, also known as HubSpot partitioning.
The first thing you need to do is make a plan because it’s not as easy as pie.
You see, every record has an owner. In fact, there might be more than one type of owner, like at the user level or team level.
So you need to plan how you’re going to organize the data and how you’ll divide or partition it in the system.
And that comes before setting up the final users and permissions people will need to access everything.
So my advice here is to first plan it out well. And secondly, know that HubSpot can help you set this up just the way you want.
In advanced versions, you can even organize records by business unit. Pretty cool, huh?
Thanks so much! This is what I need for now. Much appreciated.
