Limit the List of Users in "Hubspot User" Type Properties

Currently, HubSpot allows users to assign any owner from the list of all users to properties that are marked as “Hubspot User” type.

While this is useful in some cases, there are scenarios where we don’t need to display all available owners.

For example, in specific teams or departments, we only want to show a certain list of users rather than everyone in the account.

Proposed Solution:

I would like to request a feature that would allow HubSpot admins to configure a restricted list of users for “Hubspot User” type properties.

This would streamline the process of assigning owners, reduce confusion, and make the experience more relevant for different teams within the organization.

This feature would allow us to:

  • Customize the list of users available in the “Owner” dropdown for specific properties.
  • Limit visibility of owners based on specific teams, roles, or permissions. It would be great if you could!!
  • Improve usability by ensuring only the most relevant owners are visible.

This would be really helpful for us, too. We have a custom object called “Service Jobs” that contains a field for the assigned engineer. We’d want to be able to only show:

a) specific users as selected in the property setup

b) specific teams (which would be preferable as it avoids having to adjust properties when new members join/leave)

This would also apply for some of the newer HubSpot objects like Appointments (you wouldn’t send your marketing manager out on a sales appt, right?), and the Service object (which is effectively what we created in Service Jobs before this default object type existed)
