I found a large number of contacts were set forwards a lifecycle stage via an accidental workflow (ie/ it set all MQLs to SQLs). I have cleared the lifecycle stages via workflow, and set them to the correct lifecycle stage (MQL). However, all our funnel reports still show these contacts as having converted from MQL to SQL. How do I fix this?

I misspoke - it was setting them forwards to ‘customer’. Even worse!
I tried both old funnel reporting & new funnel reporting and ironically, they gave me different results.
For simplicity, I have it filtered down to a single record that was impacted. Here is what happened with this contact:
1. It was a lead
2. Workflow accidentally set it to customer
3. I cleared the lifecycle stage via workflow, and set it back to lead
Attached is a screenshot of results in both old funnel reporting tool and new funnel reporting tool. The challenge with the new funnel reporting tool is while it displays what I want it to show, when placed on a dashboard, dashboard filters don’t apply to it at all (I understand the new report type is in beta but right now its unusable without dashboard filters).
I’m currently facing this same issue. The conversion funnel reports for the original reports and the new journey builder are still showing contacts that have EVER reached that stage vs contacts who have a linear flow of data for “Became a {{stage}} date” property.
I would expect that if the “became a” date field is no longer present, then the ability to report on the objects movement through stages should also be removed.
Our “created > SQL” conversion report falsely shows 160K+ records reaching the SQL stage due to setting too many to SQL by accident.
We cleared the stage and set it backward, but the conversion report for “all time” is now completely incorrect.
