I’m setting up a custom lead scoring model and would like to award points when a contact clicks a specific link in a marketing email — for example, if they click on a _case study link_ (URL contains “case-study”), they should receive +5 points.

Could you please confirm whether HubSpot’s lead scoring tool allows this type of URL-specific email click condition?

I’m aiming for a scoring setup that distinguishes between general email engagement and specific, high-intent clicks (like case study or brochure links).

Thanks so much for your help and any guidance you can provide on how to set this up effectively!

Sophie

Hey @SPerkins98 - thanks for posting in the Community!
I’d like to tag in a few Lead Scoring experts to see if they have any insight on whether or not this setup is possible! @RomyFuchs1, @ChrisoKlepke, and @CateDuarte - any thoughts here?

Hi @STierney,
In principle, you can select clicks in a specific email as a score. You can restrict the click to a specific URL or email name. However, I would recommend against doing this, as these clicks are not always 100% accurate. Certain regulations, such as those imposed by [Apple](https://www.cleverreach.com/en-de/push-magazin/newsletter-reporting-tracking/apple-mail-privacy-protection-how-does-it-affect-your-newsletter-reporting/#:~:text=Apple%20downloads%20the%20entire%20content,on%20this%20metric%20significantly%20difficult.), prevent all data from being forwarded. I would therefore recommend tracking the forwarding to the target and restricting it to the source “email marketing.”
Regards

Hi @SPerkins98! My name is Melody, and I’m the Product Manager for Lead Scoring. Thanks for your feedback on this! Both Lead Scoring and Health Scoring now can do **conditional scoring with “and”** , which supports defining a specific link click with a specific marketing email.
Here’s the Lead Scoring [product notification](https://app.hubspot.com/l/product-updates/?rollout=283921&uuid=97046806-c7ea-4fae-8371-77ad5d313213) to join the Public Beta for both apps and a quick [video demo](https://www.loom.com/share/25b8d83f9d2742c3960b76021a56f222) for more information. Note that the current functionality is creating conditional logic across properties (within fit) and within a specific event (within engagement). Thanks for your patience and let me know if you have any questions or additional feedback!
