We are creating a Workflow that let us track Traffic Sources and translate it into “our language”. I stumble upon a bucket of Contacts that we want to set “event” as their Latest Traffic Source whenever we make an Import and use specific naming convention to fetch them. However as I was testing, I uploaded a contact’s data through an Import and was expecting for Latest Traffic Source to Update to “Offline Source” and Drill-down 1 to “IMPORT”. However this did not happen. It appears that this values only update for when the contact is created.
Any reasoning behind this? Would appreaciate any insights!

This is not documented well, but the latest traffic source does not update reliably for imported contacts. It’s a property meant to track traffic sources, not offline sources / imports.

With this note referring to offline methods:
To understand how records were created in HubSpot, including offline methods, refer to the list of change source values or record source property instead.
If you want to track touchpoints like a recent webinar, I’d recommend creating a custom property for that an update that via import or workflow.
