Our plan recently got expiered and we now we are not able to make any changes to our landing pages.
Our subdomain is hosted on Hubspot, but because of the changes in the plan we are not able to edit the link or the code.
What should we do?
Is there any way we can edit the link, so that the broken link can be fixed and it doesnt affect the sub domain.

Hey! This is a tricky situation but you do have some options depending on what you need.

When a HubSpot plan expires, CMS-hosted pages go into a read-only state — meaning the content stays published (so your subdomain shouldn’t immediately break) but you lose the ability to edit or republish. Here’s what I’d look at:

**First, check what’s actually broken.** Is the subdomain showing a 404, a “page not found,” or is it just that you can’t make edits? If the pages are still live but just uneditable, that’s a different problem than if the link itself is broken.

**For the broken link specifically** — if your subdomain is pointing to a HubSpot-hosted page via a CNAME record in your DNS, the record itself won’t disappear just because your plan expired. You’d only lose the ability to edit where it points. If the link is broken, it may be worth checking your DNS settings directly with your domain provider to confirm the CNAME is still intact.

**To actually fix the page or redirect** — you’ll likely need to either reactivate a plan (even temporarily) or export the content and move it to another host. HubSpot does allow content exports in some cases, which might be worth exploring before fully committing to a plan upgrade.

**If you just need to fix one broken redirect** , sometimes the fastest path is a short-term reactivation on the lowest tier that gives you CMS access, make the change, then evaluate from there.

Would help to know: is the page fully down, or just uneditable? That’ll narrow down the best path forward.

Hey @YK1996,

When a plan expires, editing capabilities for landing pages and certain domain settings can get restricted depending on the specifics of the downgrade.

The resource I’ve included below I believe should answer one way you can handle this:

- [Manage your HubSpot hosted pages after downgrading](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/account-management/downgrade-a-paid-subscription#:~:text=Pages%20with%20HubDB%20tables%20will,get%20below%20your%20tier%20limit.)

That said, tagging in some of our top contributors who may have run into this scenario before!

Hey @JWingate2, @EugeneAtKiwi, @RNoll -- do you have any additional suggestions for @YK1996 on this?
Thanks in advance!

Sam, Community Manager

Hi @YK1996,
I don’t have direct experience with subdomains expiring, but we have over 50 subdomains with many landing pages, so your post struck a chord.

Hopefully the responses from [@SamTassey](https://community.hubspot.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/388334) and @nidaateeq helped you, but if you’re still struggling, providing some more details could be useful:

- **What exactly is broken?** I’m not quite catching what you mean by \*\*“\*\*Is there any way we can edit the link, so that the broken link can be fixed and it doesn’t affect the sub domain.” Is a link on the page going somewhere wrong, does the page itself return an error, is a redirect not working, or is everything not working?
- **What was your previous plan?** (e.g. Marketing Hub Professional, Enterprise, etc.)
- **Did your plan expire/lapse, or did you intentionally downgrade to a lower tier?**
- **What plan or subscription do you have now?**
- **Can you describe your domain setup?**
