# Keep Hubspot tasks open when notes are added

Hello,

Situation:

My sales reps add notes into open tasks to keep track of information. Yet, once they add a note, the task goes into completion and closes (see image).

Question:

How can we prevent this automatic task completion from happening when a note is added? I want my team to have the possibility to leave a note as a 1st step, and later to manually complete the task without having a follow-up.

Please advise, thank you!

Hi @FHugi,

I have run into the same issue. Currently, there isn’t a setting to change this behavior. The best option is create a follow-up task (right next to the “Save note and complete task” button). Definitely an unnecessary additional step but the fastest workaround.

If you feel strongly about this being a feature, you could suggest it in the [HubSpot Ideas](https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/idb-p/HubSpot_Ideas) section of the community. The product team reviews the requests shared there based on popularity.
