I’ve seen a few suggestions for adding kanban boards but none in relation to personal note-taking and tracking. While HubSpot is great for the data side of things, I find it very lacking in personal note-taking, organisation, and planning.
Some features, like custom properties and dashboards, work well for shared data, reports, and analytics, but have very limited customisation and aren’t well suited for:
• Fast, informal notes
• Personal observations or working thoughts
• Day-to-day account planning
• Customer overviews that need to evolve frequently
• Custom visualisation
Depsite HubSpot being the source of truth for our company, I find myself more often heading to Notion or Trello to document information or thoughts about companies because these tools offer:
• Customisable layouts
• Personalised visual organisation (tagging, colour-coding, checkboxes)
• Quick editing and easy scanning
As an example:
Notice how my personal off-HubSpot board contains:
• Emojis next to company names to help me more easily separate and identify them
• Colour-coded tags so I can get information at a glance
• Different column formats all in one table (dates, tags, text, checkboxes)
• Companies that can open into further customisable documents
• The ability to quickly toggle checkboxes and add notes from the overview
I would love to move all of this information to HubSpot and track everything there, but it just isn’t possible with what’s currently available. I’d like to see something like a kanban or table-based board that offers better customisation and visualisation for personal notes and lightweight planning.
This would also give us a private user-based space to work from where we don’t have to worry about that information impacting other metrics or shared data.
