I've been facing challenges with getting ranked on Google Local Services

Over the last two weeks, I’ve encountered problems with ranking on Google Local Services, and I’ve been testing to find the best strategies for ranking. I’ve read numerous articles emphasizing the optimization of information, gathering customer reviews, and other tactics; however, one website mentioned link-building for GMB (Google My Business). I wonder if this can truly help a GMB listing achieve a better rank. Does Google really pay attention to these links?

This has made me ponder how we should approach off-page SEO for GMB. What is important, and if I were in Google’s place, how would I focus on off-page factors?

Here are some thoughts I’d like to share and discuss:

  1. Google should consider the brand’s reputation and how users talk about the business.
  2. Google should assess how the business appears on maps and the activity level of its social media presence (social signals).
  3. I think link-building from relevant, high-quality local websites can significantly enhance the relevance and authority of the GMB listing.

Are there any other factors you think can help improve the ranking of a GMB listing?

@VeronicaFlores I also wrote this article for the HubSpot Advocates blog:

that may be helpful.

I spent many years working on local SEO using GMB/Google Listings to help local businesses rank, I’m not sure if link-building your profile actually helps.

The number one driver for improving rank has always been a fully optimized profile followed by frequent, consistent reviews.
