Issues with outboxes linked to enrolments for manual email tasks in sequences

Hey, I’ve got a sequence that uses manual and auto email.
(step 1 manual email >> step 3 auto email)
When I enroll the contact into the sequence I have an option to choose which email account it links to and link it to outbox ‘A’.
Then, when I open the task, via task view or dirctly on the contact page, select “review and send” the manual email step, it is a different outbox ‘B’ that is linked.
So, if I send it without correcting it (how am i supposed to remember the outbox linked to each lead) will it shift the second auto email to this address, despite being set to outbox A, or will they receive a follow message with no prior email in thread?
When enrolling contacts I carefully select the outboxes in bulk, so it’s not ideal to then having to do it a second time, one by one.

Shouldn’t the outbox linked in the task be automatically synced to the outbox I chose when enrolling the contact?
I’d also like to say that it would be great to see the daily email sent/scheduled per inbox - right now this is only available on 100% automated email sequences.

You’re right. This is a known limitation in HubSpot.

When you enroll a contact into a sequence and select Outbox A, the manual email task can still default to your primary inbox (Outbox B) when opened. HubSpot currently does not persist the selected outbox into the manual step.

Impact - If sent from the wrong outbox, the follow-up automated emails may not thread properly, creating a disjointed experience.

Potential Workaround:

  • Always double-check the sender inbox before sending manual emails.
  • Use task queues to streamline this and reduce manual oversight.
