Issues with HubSpot-Salesforce Sync: Missing Companies, Blank First Names, and Unmapped Deals

Hey everyone,
We’re using the native HubSpot-Salesforce integration with two-way sync enabled. Company and deal records are supposed to sync between the two platforms but we’ve hit a few snags:

  • Some companies exists in HubSpot but they aren’t syncing to Salesforce at all despite the two-way sync rule.
  • Additionally, there are companies coming in HubSpot that have blank first names, despite Salesforce having their complete names accurately recorded.
  • If I am going into each company in HubSpot and manually resyncing the company, the names eventually appear after a few minutes. But updating them manually is quite time consuming and not a feasible option.
  • Certain deals that are present in HubSpot are not showing up or syncing in Salesforce, and we’re not seeing any clear errors for those in sync errors.
  • Furthermore, some deals exist in both platforms, but updates made to deal properties in HubSpot are not reflecting in Salesforce, despite two-way sync being enabled in the integration mapping for those properties.
  • I have also checked the sync errors, but there are no related errors being displayed.

Would love any insights or steps to troubleshoot this more effectively.
@karstenkoehler - Could you please share any insights you might have on this matter?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I’ve run into some of these sync headaches before. Here’s what I’d check next:

  • Make sure your sync filters aren’t accidentally blocking some companies or deals. Sometimes a field-level filter (like Lifecycle Stage or custom fields) on either side quietly keeps records out of sync.
  • For the blank names, double-check your field mappings, if there’s a mismatch or one side is set as read-only, that can mess with updates. Also, HubSpot sometimes needs a nudge to resync if a required field was empty during the initial sync.
  • If you’re not seeing sync errors, look for any required fields on the Salesforce side that might block new records from being created/updated, even if you don’t see errors in HubSpot, Salesforce sometimes rejects silently.
  • For deals not updating: check both the mapping and permissions. Sometimes a user integration connection loses access after a password change or role update.

If none of that helps, try doing a small test update on one record to see if anything changes, or turn off/re-enable sync for just that object. And yeah, the manual resync workaround is a pain, usually means there’s a field or mapping not lining up perfectly.

If it’s an urgent fix, you might try Skyvia’s integration tool (it has a free version that’s enough for most basic sync troubleshooting). It lets you test custom mapping and see exactly what’s coming over, which sometimes makes the real problem obvious.
