Issues linking marketing email opt-in to a website form

Hi folks, my web developer and I are new to HubSpot and we’re trying to link a HubSpot form to my Wordpress website. We’ve connected all the fields apart from the marketing email consent to communicate tick box. In the HubSpot form, this is set up using the standard ‘data privacy and consent’ fields in the form builder, with the subscription type set to ‘marketing emails’. What object do we need to link to get this data to flow from the form into HubSpot CRM?

For comparison, I set up a second form in exactly the same way (in the form list, both are labelled as regular forms) but I use it as a raw form that isn’t embedded. When a contact completes that form, it creates a new contact record and ticking this box drives the selection of ‘freely given consent from contact’ under the field ‘legal basis for processing contact’s data’ and the status of ‘subscribed’ under the ‘marketing emails’ subscription status. I’m trying to get the web form to do the same thing.

Thanks for your guidance!!

Before we can assess, we need a better understanding of your setup as you mention that you are connecting fields which suggests you are not using the Hubspot form embed code. Is there a form builder being used connecting to the Hubspot form? If so, what form builder are you using? If not, can you please explain what you mean about connecting fields and if you can please provide a link so we can examine the page in question.

Hey Ben, thanks for the message! I think he is using the embed code, but was struggling to match the right object. But we’ve been working on it again today and found the fix, so it’s all sorted now :slightly_smiling_face:
