I’ve started to use HubSpot’s bulk uploading capability but have run into an issue and wonder if there is a fix? When a post contains special characters, such as apostrophes, they are replaced with a black triangle with a question market inside.

Example in the image below… Most of our post are related to my analyst team, along with people and companies we speak with. Making an apostrophe fairly important. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @NBiron,

Generally, apostrophes should be supported, see this test below (imported from the .xls template).

Have you used the recommended Excel template, as shown in this screenshot? [https://knowledge.hubspot.com/social/bulk-upload-and-schedule-social-posts#prepare-your-bulk-scheduling-import-file](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/social/bulk-upload-and-schedule-social-posts#prepare-your-bulk-scheduling-import-file)

This seems to be a file compatibility issue so that’d be the first thing I’d check.

In this knowledgebase article, HubSpot also points out that special (accented) characters are only supported in XLS or XLSX file. Are you using the ’ character or a slanted variation like ` ´ ?

Best regards!

I have been using the template, but using CSV formatting. Curious if that is our issue. I’m going to test it out.

I’ve tested out, and that seems to be the core issue… Once I started using excel over CSV, post are appearing properly. Thank you for the insight.
