Issue with "Create permissions for Contacts, Companies, Deal" Beta – Import Functionality Limitation

Dear HubSpot Support Team,

We recently joined the beta for the “Create Permissions” feature for Contacts, Companies, Deals, Tickets, and Custom Objects. However, we have noticed an issue when importing data. Specifically, the import tool no longer provides the option to select “Create and Update”—instead, only the “Update” option is available.

This limitation significantly impacts our workflow, as we need the ability to both create new records and update existing ones during imports. Could you please confirm whether this is an expected behavior in the beta version or if there is a workaround available?

I have not tested the new Beta myself, but is the “create and update” option on imports missing for all users or only those with restricted “create permissions”?

I have administrator permissions, and the “Create and Update” option was not available for me during the import.

So what are you seeing here?

  • No options at all
  • Just the “update existing contacts” option

I have just joined the beta and I still see the above. I see you have Enterprise so I would be on a chat with HS Support to get this looked at as it sounds like a bug to me.
