When using the Visitor Identification API with multiple chatflows will the history be preserved for each chatflow or all chatflows? Is this based on the Private App instance?
I could not find anything in the documentation or discussion board relating to this. Thanks.

Hey, @PDiniii 👋 Great question!

I did a bit of digging for us. Here’s what I found out:

The Visitor Identification API records and tracks visitors across your site, and the data it provides is not unique to a specific chatflow. It uses cookies to identify a visitor across different pages and sessions on your site.

As for the history, it will be preserved for all chatflows where the visitor has interacted, not just a specific one. The history is based on the visitor’s browser cookies rather than the Private App instance.

Keep in mind, the cookie tracking depends on the visitor’s browser settings and whether they clear their cookies.

I hope this helps clarify things.

Best,

Jaycee
