Is this sales training worth it?

Hi guys, first post! So I really want to figure out sales and I came across a super convincing advert from Closers.io https://closers.io Did the call with them and everything works super slick. The plan is expensive - it’s 12k. I went in on a love it or leave it after 30 days for 2.5k to minimise risk - and I’ve gotta say the training videos are pretty damn awesome and very extensive. Just wondering if you guys think it’s worth the extra 9.5 to say the course - it includes a weekly one on one and group coaching also. The training is super detailed on everything from getting the offer right all the way to calls, objections, setting, closing, everything. Would love to hear your thoughts. It is certainly not cheap, but if you can close more deals, then the cost is easy to validate. Have you seen any tangible pipeline improvement over the first 30 days? What do you think you can close over 120 days without versus with the course? --- This post was migrated from connect.com and was originally published at an earlier date.

Thanks Ethan, yes that was my thought too! I mean, if I want the same results as I always got, I can just keep doing what I have been doing, but ideally I’d love brilliant results, so from that angle I can mentally justify a larger investment. It’s just so hard to estimate if the guidance and all this great content is worth a lot more than say the 10 best books and trial and error with 10k in the budget. So far the training is AWESOME, I feel it’s really helped me improve my offer and understand how to present and do calls etc - so that’s great, but my trial will end in a week and I haven’t made any sales yet because we are not there yet - (I paid 2.5k for the first 30 days) I have really enjoyed it and the training is awesome, but because of the way the course moves it’ll be month two before sales would happen anyways. So I’d just be making up figures by saying what I could close with their help versus not - they are super confident, but they are the ones selling - so they would be! haha --- This post was migrated from connect.com and was originally published at an earlier date.

Thanks for the tag, Victor Becerra ! After taking a quick look, here are my thoughts: *It is great that you like the first videos *but* that might be part of their sales process so I would ask to preview a video later in the series to ensure that the “wow” factor remains. *They claim to have gone from $0/year to $30mm/year in 3 years - that is a pretty wild growth trajectory without any VC or PE money. How are the operations of a company that has grown that fast without support? *Their focus is on building a sales system - what does that mean? Within what CRM? I have run across a number of clients that end up buying something that they can’t keep later if they discontinue with the company so I would ensure that you own whatever is built into your CRM, if you contract that service with them. *I would check their true FTE headcount. The people who are “associated” on LinkedIn could be graduates that they are placing with companies. Doing a quick search in Sales Navigator made me think that many employees are graduates, not employees * Of course, speak to companies like yours who sell a similar product. One of the worst contracts I ever entered into was with a sales “expert” who had not ever worked with complex, technical professional services and she accomplished absolutely nothing. She was a big name and came highly recommended. I am sure she is good at her craft but was not wise enough to know that with our business she was out of her depth. --- This post was migrated from connect.com and was originally published at an earlier date.

It looks like on of the co-founders of Huble Digital, Daryn Smith, is connected with one of their sales reps on LI - maybe connect with him and ask what he thinks of them. Their footprint in SA seems smaller so maybe easier to get some details. Good luck! I do know someone who does training with Sandler and I have heard good things about them! --- This post was migrated from connect.com and was originally published at an earlier date.

Thanks so much Mandy! So they have a very extensive bank of trainings and I can access them all already (I paid for a 30 day love it or leave it trial, after which I have to decide to pay the rest and complete the programme or not) The trainings from start to finish are super high quality in my opinion. I’ve done two masters degrees, one at a top business school and I found the trainings better - and especially more compelling and applicable. Whatever I build in my CRM is mine and of course the worksheets on offer etc will remain my own. What I’m curious about and don’t wanna miss out on is them helping with my sales system if it really can work post all this prep work - then it would be well worth the investment. What I fear is that I pay the money, and great and all as the prep is, it doesn’t translate into sales and I lose the money. They do have some clients in very similar areas who are selling way more than me so that’s encouraging and attractive. Building a sales system I guess is the specific types of funnels and they prescribe you 1-2 based on your particular offering and guide you through the stages all the way to implementation and closing calls I’m not familiar with Huble Digital - but I’ll reach out to him and see if he replies. Thanks so, so much for the detailed response. I really appreciate it. --- This post was migrated from connect.com and was originally published at an earlier date.

Hi Enda! OK, sales training is my business, so I hope I can offer some helpful insights here for SURE! :slightly_smiling_face: Pretty please see this as helping (and an offer for 1:1 follow up and not a pitch. Won’t even mention my co. name) :). All video-based training is my concern 1. People forget over 90% of a video by end of week. If it isn’t interactive, it isn’t training. There are lots of famous thought leaders who are good sellers making videos today, but being good at sales and teaching others are 100% opposite (and often opposing). Is the follow-up worth it you asked: it’s unclear what’s included. Most companies sell you the videos and a few follow up videos, maybe a group coaching call they hope you don’t come to. Are there any tools? Any role plays? Any recorded examples of what good sounds like? I’d also really dig into how this is customized / tailored to your team and selling situation. True tailoring helps people apply the skill vs. “a good idea” I saw in a video. :slightly_smiling_face: Finally, how do they engage the sales managers? New ideas live and die in their hands. If they don’t have separate sessions, coaching guides, goals and follow up. . .they’ll ignore this like they do most training and you don’t get your ROI. OK, that was A LOT of negative and I hope you’ll forgive me. These are the common pitfalls - I bought training as a Revenue Enablement Leader for 5 years after being a Revenue Leader, so I’ve made all the mistakes!! Hi Lauren, Thanks so much for your response. Very much appreciated! So it’s video training plus a call every 10 days, plus slack feedback on the homework usually between 12-48 hours response time and you’re given a guided path through selected training based on what they diagnose you need. So far it’s been super fun and cool, but as the decision point looms (I have a love it or leave it trial for 30 days) I was hoping to see a sale by the end of the 30 days to validate that it works, but because there’s a lot of prep - I won’t - so it’s a lot harder to decide. Already I feel I’ve greatly improved by knowledge of making and communicating a great offer and somewhat improved b knowledge of sales calls. Later they do call reviews etc but that’ll be in month 2/3. Yes role plays etc too. They’ve given insight into other businesses that are similar but working great in terms of optional pivots which is interesting too. Great questions. Basically as the decision date looms I’m wondering to proceed with the payment and the next 2 months for 10k, or exit here and go it alone with books and other resources and more budget to experiment and discover by myself. Do you have a feeling which would be the better call based on the above? --- This post was migrated from connect.com and was originally published at an earlier date.

In 30 days you should see a result. Longer talk time / call? Higher conversion to stage two? If not, let’s ask why: 1. the concepts they teach are awesome but you need coaching to implement for resutls - get the package and feedback. 2. the concepts they teach are pretty good and helpful but not total change makers - use the boost and spend your money elsewhere. It comes down to if you see the potential. Are they tactics that will move a number with more consistent implementation or is it great ideas and theory? What does your gut say? --- This post was migrated from connect.com and was originally published at an earlier date.

Enda Gallery - that all sounds good! Did you get to speak with those who are in your space to hear from them about their experience? --- This post was migrated from connect.com and was originally published at an earlier date.
