I keep getting hired by clients that are having issues specifically with connecting their domain names to HubSpot from GoDaddy.
In each scenerio I just have them disconnect the domain and walk them through the set up again, and it connects. I think there might have been one or two where we had to delete some cname records.
I’m dealing with a client this afternoon and I’m noticing that the nameservers aren’t updating in GoDaddy, they are set to default. The domain tool doesn’t appear to update the name servers but I haven’t had to do it manually before. I try to find the name servers to manually update them, I find this post: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/Blog-Website-Page-Publishing/What-is-Hubspot-s-Nameserver-name/m-p/759791
I can’t find the name servers or any reference to a place where I can grab and update them.
Also, I just noticed that when we run the tool for the no-subdomain url, we see “2 of 1 domains used” and an alert that both www and no-subdomain are both working. Maybe that’s new, I’m not sure - I noticed it while explaining that there is a tool for redirecting www to no-subdomain.
I wish I could say exactly what the problem has been each time but either HubSpot is seeing an increase in sales or people are suddenly having issues with the domain tool. Any ideas?
Hi @Jsum,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community!
Are you (or your clients) still experiencing this issue with GoDaddy?
I wanted to share this snippet from this knowledge base article regarding nameservers. HubSpot does not own or manage your nameservers. They are hosted by your current DNS provider, which sounds like GoDaddy in your case:
" Ensure that your nameservers are hosted with your current DNS provider. If you need help making changes to your nameservers, reach out to your IT department or to your DNS provider’s support team."
Have you tried reaching out to GoDaddy support yet? They would be your best point of contact for the nameservers as we cannot manage them from our end. Can you please reach out to them and let us know how it goes?
In regards to your question regarding the tool for the no-subdomain URL, can you confirm if you are referring to the brand domain? Do you have any screenshots of the tool you are referring to in addition to the error message? Thank you!
Best,
Kristen
