I have downloaded the Outlook Sales Extension, but it only works when I use Outlook Classic, NOT Outlook New (the desktop version, not Outlook for the Web, which also doesn’t work because we use Outlook as the client with a Gmail domain(?) - apologies if that isn’t the right terminology, I am not techie, so I hope it makes sense).
Is there a way to get the Sales Extension to work with Outlook New for Desktop, OR in Outlook for the web, given our setup? I could always use Outlook Classic or Gmail, but I’ve gotten so used to Outlook New.
Right now, the HubSpot Sales Extension just doesn’t play nice with the new Outlook for Desktop. It’s only supported in the Classic Outlook app, and the new version (the one with the blue icon) doesn’t allow third-party COM add-ins like HubSpot’s yet.
Same story for Outlook for the web: you need the add-in, but some setups (especially if you’re using Gmail as your backend) can be finicky or blocked by your admin settings.
I’ve tried a few workarounds, but so far, nothing reliable. Most folks I know end up sticking with Outlook Classic or just use the Gmail extension if their company allows it. It would be great if Microsoft opened things up for more integrations soon, but for now, there’s no official way to get HubSpot Sales Tools working in Outlook New for Desktop.
