We’re using HubSpot’s MCP server (the query_crm_data tool) and hitting this error after a batch of queries that join across objects — e.g. DEAL WHERE CONTACT.property = value:
“You have hit the daily limit of 500 cross-object queries for this HubSpot portal. Try breaking your request into single-object queries to keep going.”
A few things I can’t find documented anywhere: is this 500/day cap the same across all subscription tiers, or does it scale with plan level? Is it per-portal regardless of how many integrations or users are querying, or can it be split up? And is there any way to check current usage against that limit before hitting it, rather than finding out from a failed call? Would appreciate hearing from anyone who’s run into this or from HubSpot staff who can speak to how it’s actually configured.
I’d like to tag in a few Community experts here to see what insight they may be able to share. @Phil_Vallender, @Anton, and @alyssamwilie - are any of you able to tag in here to support?
We’re seeing the same cliff on cross-object MCP queries (DEAL joined to CONTACT properties). Single-object search is fine; the join burns the daily budget.
Until docs clarify whether 500/day is portal-wide, per connected app, or tier-based, we treat it as one shared portal budget.
Workarounds that held up for us:
Prefer single-object MCP/API pulls, join offline in the agent/tooling layer.
Cache association maps for the day instead of re-joining every prompt.
Log remaining budget (or at least count of cross-object calls) so ops sees the fail coming.
Also: is there any portal UI or API that exposes current usage against that 500, or only the hard error?
Curious if anyone on Enterprise sees a higher cap than Pro, or if it’s flat.
I looked through HubSpot’s official documentation and couldn’t find any specific documentation mentioning a 500 cross-object queries/day limit. I did find references to this limit through Google/search results, but I haven’t personally used the cross-object query functionality enough to confirm how this limit is actually enforced.
Since this limit isn’t mentioned in the official HubSpot documentation, I wouldn’t want to say with certainty that the 500/day limit applies.
That said, I’d still recommend contacting HubSpot Support to clarify whether this is an actual quota, how it is calculated, and whether it varies based on the HubSpot subscription or portal.
