Sorry if this is the wrong location. I am trying to use the import tool to update some contact records and sometimes need to overwrite a field to be empty. I can’t see how.

from 2 years ago that gives the workaround, and yeah I know I could setup a workflow to do this on a recurring basis etc, but it seems so unnecessary. Is there still no way to do this?

You are not missing an option for in-app imports. If you have developer resources, you can look at using the Import API to set values as blank or null. They could use a Developer Test Account and some test data to avoid experimenting in your production portal.
