Invitation email received but bounced confirmation

Hello.

I have invited my colleague to join our account but the when he tries to join via the link it ask for verification which he never receives. I tried to unbounce in the application but it says it can not unbounce. I have tried removing and inviting again and the same happens. Can you please manually unbounce the email?

Thank you,

Joy

Hi @OptimaJoy,

Thank you for posting to the Community! Can you please send me a DM with the email address that you would like to unbounce?

Thank you!

Hi @OptimaJoy

This isn’t something you can fix on your end - it’s a known limitation. When an invite email hard-bounces, HubSpot suppresses that address, but the self-serve Unbounce option doesn’t work for certain bounce types like unknown addresses or full mailboxes, since those inboxes are treated as likely abandoned. Removing and re-inviting won’t help, since the suppression is on the email address itself.

Quick checks first:

  • Confirm the email address is spelled correctly on the user record (a typo on the original invite is the most common cause).
  • Ask your colleague to check spam/junk and confirm their IT team isn’t blocking HubSpot’s sending domains.
  • Have them try the HubSpot login page directly and use “Forgot password” — this can trigger a fresh email without needing the original invite.

If the address is confirmed valid and it still won’t clear, you’ll need HubSpot Support: contact HubSpot Support and request that they remove the bounce so you can resend the invitation. Support can unbounce a user’s email once the underlying issue is fixed - this isn’t exposed to admins in-app for this bounce type.

How to reach HubSpot Support?
In your HubSpot account, click the Help (?) icon in the top navigation bar (top right, next to your account icon - before the Settings gear) → Contact Support → start a chat and ask them to manually unbounce the user’s invite email.
Best regards!

If this helped resolve your issue, please mark it as the solution - it’ll make it easier for others running into the same thing to find it.

Hi there @OptimaJoy,

I went ahead and unbounced the user on our end. Do you mind having them test again to see if they are now able to receive the email?
