For outbound calls, HubSpot’s AI call summary should include the actual dialed number, not just the rep’s callback number.
In my case, the summary included my callback number but omitted the number that was actually called. The call notes also didn’t make the destination number obvious, so I had to infer it from the associated record. That creates unnecessary guesswork.
Why this matters:
- Reps and managers reviewing calls need to know which number was actually dialed
- Contacts and associated accounts often have multiple phone numbers
- If the summary only shows the callback number, it can be misleading
- This slows down follow-up and reduces confidence in the summary
Suggested improvement:
Add a standard section to AI call summaries for:
- Dialed number
- Callback number
- Matched source of the dialed number, such as contact, company, manual entry, or integration
Example:
- Dialed number: (863) 513-1800
- Callback number: (440) 213-6910
This feels like a simple, high-value usability improvement that would remove a lot of ambiguity from call review.
There are other posts on this going back to at least 2014, one that has 7k views and seemingly internal hubspot engagement and it is a no brainer that the dialed number, especially when it’s important to define general/hq or cell or if an older number that is no longer listed for any outreach, not just in AI summary but in the actual call note in activity as a default piece.
