At the moment, it is not possible to import leads. However, this would fit our funnel strategy more than importing deals.

Our data provider offers API endpoint solutions only at tripple the cost, and due to data volume (only around 30 sets per week) it would help a lot to become able importing them.

[Coefficient from the HubSpot marketplace](https://ecosystem.hubspot.com/marketplace/apps/coefficient) is a super cheap/free easy solve for this workflow.
It’s a 2-way sync between HubSpot and Sheets/Excel. You can use the “Export” functionality to create new Leads records.

Perfect for low-volume workflows like yours (e.g., 30 leads per week), and you don’t have to stretch your budget on expensive connector upgrades. And the workflow can be fully automated.

Thx @h-recker

it helps a little bit, however, integrating Leads to Hubspot import would also allow to run cross object import, meaning lead + company + contact e.g.

That is what would still be missing.

@1stClaas you can do a cross-object import with Coefficient.
The “Export to HubSpot” feature in Coefficient lets you not only update, insert, or delete records in various HubSpot objects (like Contacts, Companies, Deals, etc.), but also manage associations between objects.

@h-recker yes thx, I tested it, but I can only insert lead data, and not at the same time insert (create) a new company or update an existing one. This is what the Hubspot import tool is capable of at various object types, just not for leads. Thx though, really appreciate that hint and it may also help us with other stuff.

I need the import feature to allow us to import lead data so we can create leads and update data in leads via excel. I have old leads that need to be imported into the system to get our reporting all out of one place. I’m hoping this is already in the product timeline know the lead object is newer, but we can’t fully migrate to the new lead object and sales workspace until this is done because we don’t have a way to update our lead data in bulk as we need to for historical leads.

I agree! Our company just started using HubSpot and we have over 500 accounts that are currently captured in an excel file as leads. It would be helpful to be able to import them and use HubSpot for tracking.

Same here. We rely heavily on the Lead Object for pipeline management, and it’s critical that we can import into the lead object so we can create and update leads.

@EPetkovich with roughly 500 rows, this is the route I would take until Leads can be imported.

First, import the sheet as Contacts and map the company domain name, so the companies are matched or created in the same pass. Add a one-off contact property, for example “Legacy lead batch”, and put the same value on every row.

Second, build a contact-based workflow that enrolls when that property is known and uses the Create record action for a Lead, associated with the contact and its company. Set the lead name and the other fields the action offers. Leads need Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise.

Third, run 5 rows first and check the associations and lead names before enrolling the rest. Leave re-enrollment off, otherwise importing the same contact again creates a second lead.

The limit you and @CTran86 describe is real, though: leads that already exist cannot be updated in bulk from a file, so that part still depends on this idea.
