Please can someone answer a couple of questions for me?
I have a set up and started using some custom drop down properties for contacts in Hubspot.
Now I need to import contact information from spreadsheets into Hubspot
In the spreadsheet, does the data for the custom dropdown properties have to be in the same drop down format, or will the data import if the cells are simply populated with the value?
Also, I see the instructions ask for empty cells to be removed from the spreadsheet. What happens if there is an empty cell because the information is not available? For example a missing telephone number. If I delete the cell it will disrupt the layout of the spreadsheet. How do others deal with this please ?
For the dropdown, you’ll simply want to put the value in the cell. So for example,
Contact A should be imported with the dropdown value “Example ABC”
The column that correlates with the dropdown field would use “Example ABC” as the value for Contact A
Your second question regarding blank cells, you can leave those blank and it simply won’t import a value. When they are referring to blank cells, they are primarily refferring to a complete columns or rows that are entirely empty, which would be unnecessary to import.
