Implementing Google Maps Javascript API to webpage

Hello,
I am implementing this Google Map with custom markers to my website: Add a Google Map with a Marker using JavaScript | Maps JavaScript API | Google for Developers
I am adding the Javascript as custom source code with my map ID and API key but it’s not rendering a map. Is there a more sophisticated way to implement a map with custom markers? Would be grateful for any insight. Thanks!

Hey, @Roni! Thanks for your question. Do you have a link to a test page where the community can view how it’s appearing? I have a few additional questions to help give our community more information:

Have you checked your browser’s developer console for any errors or warnings?
Can you create a blank page and try to embed it there? As a really simple test? If it displays as expected on your test page, there may be other issues causing it to not render correctly.
Is your code added to a module? Looking at the example from the documentation, the script goes at the bottom of your HTML and you need a placeholder div for the map to render into. This is where seeing a live example is very helpful for our community

Thanks for your input, my code is added to a module in the form of Insert >> Source Code. Is there a way to have a “blank” page independent of my theme?
I will share a published link as soon as I’m able to.
