If an existing contact in HubSpot moves to another company, its email address changes.
Thus, when a new contact is created, HubSpot cannot detect that this contact is already known at a different company.
As a result, the contact that was already known in HubSpot is not closed or not deleted, and no information from past conversations can be used.
The idea now would be that when a contact is created manually and the email address and the first and last name are entered, of course the email continues to be checked for duplicity and, in addition, the combination of first and last name is also checked if, for example, it does not exist more than “n times” in the system.
It should be possible to set the “n times” in the settings of the contacts. This could be used to check name combinations that are not “standard” in a country.
Example:
“n times” is set to 5
So if John Smith results in several 100 hits during the creation of a new contact, it makes no sense to point this out. However, if the entry is Judith Wilkensen, the system points to two hits which is lower than configured 5 in our example than the user has the possibility to check it.
In my opinion, this would be a unique selling point for HubSpot.
