Hyperlinks in Hubspot Quotes are not clickable when signed

In our Hubspot quotes we place a link to our general terms and conditions. If a quote is approved online by a customer, they will receive the PDF, but the hyperlinks can no longer be clicked, which is desirable / essential.

Second that, this is really important. How come links are not clickable once the quote becomes a PDF?

+1 to this!

Hi,

Same here, and I see that the problem is not new, how is it that Hubspot has not bring an answer to that yet ?

Same here. We store different versions of our Terms and Conditions in Hubspot as we continue to evolve them. The quote links to a specific version, and hence it is legally critical to know which version was linked to, as this is the only way we can figure out contractual obligations for both parties. Not knowing this renders quotes pretty much unusable from a legal perspective, which is a major gap.

Hi Ode, we recognize(d) this issue. We’ve included a link in the HubSpot quote to our terms and conditions, which are stored in a Google Doc. A Google Doc keeps track of revision history. Should a legal dispute arise, we can always prove which version of the terms and conditions was live at that specific moment. A foolproof solution!

Hi Milko, do you do this based on date? And if so do you use the signed date of the quote? And how do you deal with changes in the T&C between the moment of sending out the quote and signing it? How does the customer know which version they reviewed? That is why we have distinct version numbers in the link to the T&C and different versions of the T&C document so customers can always look up the specific version they signed.

We have been using quotes for years and can’t believe this is still an issue that has not been addressed. Our legal hates it. We will likely move back to PDF/dropbox sign.

This is a serious issue. We also, like many people above, link to a TOS. We need the link to be clickable when downloaded. This is a standard capability of most PDF generators.

This is not normal that Hubspot and Dropbox cannot work on that. That’s basic dematarialized service.

Here’s the answer I’ve get from Hubspot :

"Thank you for your patience. After consulting our team, it turns out that this issue is a known limitation of Dropbox Sign. Indeed, documents are processed after signing to create a final version incorporating the signatures, which results in the removal of all links present in the signed documents. Unfortunately, we have no control over the rendering of these documents.

The links on the web page of the quote work normally, and the link within the document remains active until the quote is signed.".

Hi, we have also just learnt that and it’s causing us a real concern. This feels like a fundamental oversight in functionalty.

Hi all - I am the product manager for Commerce Hub Quotes and am happy to mark this request as delivered, as you can now add terms and conditions to a rich textbox with hyperlinks that buyers can click on either online quote link or on the PDF of the quote. This is part of HubSpot’s CPQ tools. Try it out and let us know if you have any feedback or suggestions for further improvement.

@NBach - thanks for the update, but we need clickable hyperlinks throughout the entire quote document (descriptions, payment terms, various sections), not just in the terms and conditions. Does the rich text functionality work in all quote fields, or only the T&C section? Also is this going to be locked down to only Commerce Hub Pro and Enterprise users? Is there a solution for Sales Hub (Enterprise) users?

Hello, what about those who don’t use CPQ?

We use Sales Hub Pro, we don’t need the Commerce Hub.

So we don’t have the clickable hyperlinks in the PDF.

Could you make it available?

Thank you.
