Hubsput Average deal age, when merging from other CRM

Hello everyone.

We have merged all existing data from the last 8 years of business. This means cleaning and adding a lot of deals, with different data sets.

So far so good.

From 2017-2019 we didnt track a create date, just manually adding the deals in another CRM. I set the create date to the day we imported them, in order to make it easier to find them afterwards.

This skews our reporting on avg deal age, which is, at the moment 2,8 days. Even though this would be lovely, I can confidently say that this is incorrect. Unfortunately.

Im okay with the early deals not being represented in this metric.

So, as Im hoping, is it as easy as just removing the created date on all deals before 2019?

Hi @JeppeRahbek,

You’re probably referring to the close date, not the create date? The create date cannot be changed or updated through import, it will always be set as the date of the record creation in HubSpot.

But generally, yes, you can exclude parts of your data from custom reports. If all of these deals share another characteristic (an identifier from your previous CRM, a custom field, anything), you would simply exclude those from the report via the report filters. Share a screenshot of your report configuration and I can provide further help, if you’d like.

If updating them to the correct close date is an option, that’s of course preferrable.

Best regards!
