HubSpot Newbie. Adding Marketing Contacts - Easily - There has to be a way!

Hi.

I am still trying to mark my marketing contacts. However, I am finding it difficult to do this easily. As an example, I need to mark specific customer contacts as marketing contacts. I should be able to build a Contact View of all my customer contacts and scroll through them to update their status. However, I can’t create a Contact View based on Company information like Type = Customers or Industry = Healthcare. What am I missing? I tried updating records via an import but it does not allow me to update Marketing Contact Status.

This is really impeding my use of HubSpot and I feel like I missed the best practices for this.

Hi @Laura16,

If you want to set contacts to marketing contacts, you would follow these steps: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/contacts/set-contacts-as-marketing#set-existing-contacts-as-marketing

By default, you can’t filter the contact index page by company criteria, correct. You would have to create a contact list first (Menu > Contacts > Lists) and later filter the contact index page by that list (Menu > Contacts > Contacts).

In a contact list, you have the option to set company filters:

Once saved, go back to the index page, filter the contact view by list membership (and specify your list). You can then mark all contacts and set them as marketing contacts.

Best regards!

Thank you! I literally needed to go to the next step in the import!
