Hi Hubspot Community.
I am really struggling to integrate my Outlook 365 with Hubspot.
After having spoken with the Hubbot and after that a real person (sales). I have been redirected to here.
We have Outlook365 hosted by Godaddy. Which i suspect might be the causing the problem.
When speaking with Godaddy Customer support they tell me that I need to get the DNS records from my Hubspot account and then add that in Godaddy.
The problem though is that I cant seem to find those DSN records and no one seem to be able to help me.
Do I already need to go to another CRM solution or can this be fixed?
Thanks in advance?
ps: i would really much like to stay on Hubspot as that is the primary CRM tool I have used for the last 7 years.
Hi @MartinMoos and thanks for sharing the details, let’s get this sorted for you ![]()
I notice there are two different pieces of information that sometimes get combined, so I’ll separate them here for clarity:
1. Connecting your Office 365 inbox to HubSpot (for logging/tracking emails)
You do not need any DNS records from HubSpot just to connect a personal Office 365 inbox. DNS records only come into play when you connect a domain to HubSpot (for example, to host pages or authenticate a marketing email sending domain).
2. Using the HubSpot Sales Office 365 add‑in in Outlook (the pane inside Outlook)
This is where GoDaddy makes a difference, Office 365 accounts provided through GoDaddy aren’t compatible with the HubSpot Sales Office 365 add-in, since GoDaddy doesn’t support third-party apps in that environment.
Now, let’s consult our Top Experts: Hi @danmoyle, @TomM2 and @Josh do you have tips to connect a personal Office 365 inbox for CRM email to help @MartinMoos, please?
And for the second question, can you think of workarounds, please?
Thanks so much and have a lovely weekend!

Thank you for a swift reply and for clarifying. I now understand that the good people from Godaddy treat everything is an integration between two websites and does not even understand what Hubspot is.
It seems like the best option is to simply go away from Godaddy and then get Outlook from somewhere else?
Welcome to the Community @MartinMoos. I’ll +1 what @BérangèreL offered here. My additional two cents is this. You have a few basic options when staying with HubSpot.
The first thing I’d think about, as you mentioned in your reply and if ity’s feasible, is to wwitch email hosting away from GoDaddy. Move those domain and mailboxes to direct Microsoft 365 (Microsoft via Microsoft 365 admin) or another provider that supports third‑party apps. Once you’re on a supported Office 365 provider, you can connect Outlook 365 to HubSpot normally or use the Outlook desktop add‑in.
Another option is to use the Outlook desktop (desktop app) + HubSpot add‑in on a supported provider. So, if you move your mailbox to Microsoft‑hosted Microsoft 365 Business/Enterprise, you can install the HubSpot Sales Outlook desktop add‑in and get full tracking.
Some workarounds I’ve seen even if the Outlook add‑in won’t work, include:
- Use HubSpot for CRM and log emails manually when necessary (a bummer, but a real world application).
- Send emails from HubSpot itself and sync them into your history (connect an email‑sending domain via DNS for HubSpot marketing emails).
Alternatively, an integration consideration if you must stay on GoDaddy: Explore Zapier or Make.com flows that push email metadata (subject, sender, timestamp) into HubSpot from Outlook 365, but this is less smooth than the native add‑in.
I hope that helps!
Hey @MartinMoos
Bérangère explained it really well, the GoDaddy hosted Office 365 limitation is the blocker here and it’s not something on the HubSpot side that needs fixing. GoDaddy’s Office 365 plans strip out support for third party add ins which is why the HubSpot Sales extension wont install. You’re right that moving your mailbox away from
GoDaddy is probably the cleanest fix. You can migrate to a direct Microsoft 365 Business plan (through Microsoft directly or another provider) and keep the same email address and domain, you just change where the mailbox is hosted. Once you’re on a standard Microsoft 365 plan the HubSpot add in should install without any issues.
If moving away from GoDaddy isnt an option right now, there is a workaround. You can still connect your Office 365 email to HubSpot for logging and tracking through the inbox connection in HubSpot settings (Settings > General > Email) without needing the Outlook add in at all. You wont get the sidebar panel inside Outlook, but emails will still log to contact records and you can track opens. The HubSpot Chrome extension also works as an alternative if you use Outlook web (Set up the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension )
After 7 years on HubSpot I’d definitely not switch CRMs over this, its purely a GoDaddy limitation. And once you do migrate the mailbox to proper Microsoft 365, all your HubSpot integrations including any data syncs with other tools will work as expected. At Stacksync we connect with a lot of HubSpot setups and the GoDaddy hosted Office 365 thing comes up more often than you’d think, its always the same fix.
