I’m having a challenge getting a HubSpot-hosted video to show the thumbnail I uploaded in HubSpot.
In the HubSpot interface, it shows - this is *exactly* what I want to see on my Wordpress page:
But when I add the video to my website, the thumbnail disappears, which results in this craptastic look:
Yes, I’ve cleared the cache, both on WPengine (my WP host), as well as the browser, but that’s had no impact.
What am I missing?
I found a workaround for this thanks to the theme I’m using for WordPress, Salient. They have a “hosted video player” that I initially thought would require us hosting a video ourselves - it works just fine with a HubSpot hosted video, and it also allowed me to use an image as a thumbnail.

You can see how well it works here: https://rotorcorp.com/
The BIG benefit to doing this over embedding a YouTube video is that users no longer have to wait as the ~600KB of JavaScript that YouTube relied upon is no longer needed. That really boosted our GTmetrix score.
I can’t say enough good things about Salient - it’s the most flexible theme I’ve ever used for WordPress.
