HubSpot Form Notification Email Non-User

Hi,

Just came across this after a quick Google (using the search terms in the subject line)…https://community.hubspot.com/t5/Releases-and-Updates/Sunset-Adding-non-user-emails-to-form-submissi…

Basically now you can only send form submission notification emails to HubSpot users (as of last month) so I just wondered what is going to happen to any forms that are already set up using non User email addresses? Will they just continue to work? Will I be forced to update them at some point?

Does anyone know?

Thanks,
Daniel

Hi @DanielHird, good question. I would do a test and see if the non-user that was set up to receive the form notification still receives one when the form is submitted. If the non-user does not, then the legacy forms will need to be updated.

If you are using Slack, you can send Slack notifications to certain Slack users or channels when forms are submitted using a workflow to alert non-HubSpot users when certain forms have been submitted to. This is one workaround that can be done.

Hi,

The forms that include notifications to non-user email addresses will be automatically synced to the newly created user if their email addresses match. So, now that the change is live, once you create the user in HubSpot the information will update on the backend and you do not need to update the emails under the form notification settings.
Hope this helps clarify :slightly_smiling_face:

I am able to download a csv of users who are not registered currently receiving email notifications, but do you know how we can identify the forms those users are attached to? The csv only shows the number of forms they receiving notifcations.

Bringing this thread back to life, sorry… Wouldn’t it be a good idea to allow form notifications to be sent to emails inside your own domain?

I understand the need to limit those messages going outside, preventing spam and all that.

On the other hand, there’s a third-party tool that sets its price based on the number of Hubspot users in the directory, active or not. If we want to use this tool we have to pay for users that only exist to receive email notifications.

Hi @freitasm,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community!
And thanks also for the valuable Product Feedback!
I found for you the solution from @jolle on this post “Form submissions to external partners” that might help you!
Also, on this post “Form Submission Notifications Must Go To A HubSpot User Account - Policy Change”, you will find other workarounds that might work for you too!

Hi @BérangèreL

Thanks. Yes, I’ve seen that solution. The only problem I saw is that the subscription list appears on the Subscription Preferences page, which is visible to the public.

Cheers

Hi @freitasm,
I hope that you are well!
Thank you for your message!
I’d like to invite a couple of subject matter experts to this conversation @Jake_Lett, @BarryGrennan and @deepikaverma, do you have a workaround to help @freitasm, please?
