My colleague and I are attempting to pass simple HTML (unordered list) through a contact property in a single-send API marketing email. Our client wants to pass information through this property via API.

We tested this (multi-line text property) with HTML and it worked several weeks ago, but upon recent review it appears that the HTML is no longer rendering, rather showing as plain text. Screenshot of rendering issue below.

We have also tried to add a “| safe” to the property to test if rendering would work, no luck there.

Does anyone have an idea of how to render HTML through a contact property? Or has this ability been removed?

Hi, @CCostigan 👋 Welcome to the community! Let’s see if we can get the conversation started. Hey @Anton @Kevin-C @louischausse have you built out something like this using HTML stored in a Contact property and then passing it into an email?

Best,

Jaycee

I have done the same in the past and it worked. It worked for you as well but suddenly stop working. If no changes were made to your code and process, this may be on HubSpot side.

@CCostigan the solution to your problem is probably to create a “Rich text” Property instead of “multi line text” property
