Best way to learn email marketing is not theory, but by building small campaigns step by step
Start simple:
- Create one basic newsletter
- Learn how segmentation works (even 2–3 lists is enough)
- Practice writing subject lines and checking open rates
- Try one automation like a welcome email flow
also, try recreating real emails from brands you like that’s one of the fastest ways to understand structure and psychology
If possible, use HubSpot free plan and just experiment daily instead of waiting for perfect knowledge first

When I was new I treated email marketing as a feedback loop, not a subject to “finish studying,” the best part, I’m still in that feedback loop as learning is a continuous process.
You can do it by series of progressions such as → trying to set up one basic lifecycle email like a welcome email → understand what this setup is trying to do (triggers), where it’s routing, and what is the intended result
From there, you can continue with other progressive steps such as simple campaigns sendouts, how to build an effective segmentation for your business, and so on.
