I’ve connected my Outlook calendar to HubSpot, and everything is working as expected. However, I noticed an issue: when I create a meeting in my connected Outlook calendar with external partners (who are not in our CRM), HubSpot automatically creates new contacts and companies based on the meeting details.
We intentionally keep our CRM clean and don’t want every external meeting to generate new records automatically. Ideally, I’d like to manually select which meetings get logged in HubSpot—similar to how we can choose which emails to log.
Is there a way to prevent HubSpot from auto-creating contacts and companies from meetings in my connected calendar? Or at least an option to manually decide which meetings are logged?
Any insights or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!
What I don’t understand is that Hubspot says in that same yellow box that is does not create new contacts for an event via my outlook Calender, but in the end it does create a new contact (& company) ?
You’re right !
It has to do with my integration with Fireflies (AI notetaker) (see screenshot)
Hopefully I can change it in the settings there.
Just for clarity, so it is true that Hubspot will not create new contact (AND also companies ?) if there are not in the system yet whenever a meeting occurs via my connected calender ?
