Good day Hubspotters!
Head of Sales at a small startup here trying to explain to a founder what are/are not CRM best practices. She wants a pipeline stage for deals “ON HOLD” so that she has visibility on all the deals that have not been lost for a harder reason (for ex. buying a competitor). This way, we can follow-up with in X months/quarters time and try to revive them.
This complicates forecasting and is not how a CRM should be used IMO. Attaching screenshot below.
Is there any way to see these “On hold” deals in a list but avoid keeping them in the main sales pipeline? Perhaps moving them to another pipeline? List?
What is your recommended best practice?
Regards from Mexico (:
Hey @MCortes30 great to hear you’re enjoying HubSpot!
I would probably use a different pipeline for ON HOLD as you mentioned so that these don’t affect your reporting on the main pipeline at all.
The only other workaround I could think of, which might still affect your funnel reports, would be to have a custom property for “on hold”. You could set your reports to have filters of “on hold = unknown” to filter out any deals which have “True” for this, this would require you to check the on hold property for all deals you want on hold however.
Thanks for your reply Tom! Moving them to a different pipeline makes the most sense.
Thanks a lot Tom!
