Hey,
We’re currently migrating our various services into HubSpot. One of them is Mailchimp.
We have 2 audiences there with a bunch of various tags.
What’s the best way of migrating those tags over into HubSpot CRM?
The tags are important and will be needed for certain mailers in the future.
Thanks,
Boxhamster

Do I understand correctly you’d need a one-off contact export from Mailchimp (with tags) into HubSpot?
It’s straightforward to export contacts with tags from Mailchimp - see article .
And I’d then create a custom text field in HS for “MailChimp tag” and choose this as the mapped destination field when you import contacts into Hubspot

And you will end up with a field full of garbage text, of all mailchimp tags dumped into one text field ((
I just knocked this out, and I prefer to avoid text fields as much as possible, so I decided to use a multi-select option. Here’s how:
Set up a Multi-Select Field in HubSpot:
Go to your HubSpot account and navigate to Settings > Properties.
Create a new custom property with a field type of “Multi-select.”
Add the necessary options for your tags.
Prepare Your Data in Google Sheets:
Follow the outline provided in this HubSpot knowledge base article .
Use the find and replace function in Google Sheets to replace commas with semicolons.
Create a new column, add in “;” and use the =CONCATENATE Function to combine the cells.
Import the Data into HubSpot:
Go to your HubSpot account and navigate to Contacts > Import.
Follow the import process, making sure to map the columns in your Google Sheets to the corresponding multi-select field in HubSpot.
By following these steps, you’ll be able to migrate your Mailchimp tags into HubSpot CRM efficiently and ensure they are available for future mailers.
