Hi everyone,
We have a standard gated content (ebook) with a form. When someone fills out the form, a workflow sends them the eBook via email. The form also includes the standard marketing consent box. Right now (as expected), if a person does not check the marketing consent box, they cannot receive the eBook. But here’s the problem: many people choose not to tick the consent box (because they don’t want marketing communication), and then they come back asking “Where is my eBook?”
How would you recommend handling this process more smoothly, without confusing or frustrating users?
Thanks in advance!
Hi @ozgesilla,
If the email only delivers the requested content and no marketing, it is transactional - it can be sent without consent.
Out of the box, however, HubSpot does not give you the option to send an email as transactional. There is a paid add-on you would have to purchase: How to Use Transactional Emails to Send Relationship-Based Emails in HubSpot
Emails sent with this subscription type don’t require any checkbox checked in the form.
The next best solution without additional costs would be creating a subscription type “Confirmation emails” or similar - which you set to opted in within your workflow, for every converting contact; right before an email like the one you described is sent.
Best regards
