Hi!
Could you please help with the next issue?
We actively use industry field in Hubspot.
Here we have two issues.
Only about 40-50% of our lead industries are defined automatically by Hubspot.
The issue is that we need to do manual research for the other 50%.
If there any possibility of increasing the number of defined industries for inbound leads?
2. The same industry can have 2-3 name variations on HubSpot. For example 1. Architecture, 2. Architecture and Planing and moreover 3.Architecture_and_Planning. Is it possible to combine similar names to a single entity instead of 3?
Thank you in Advance
Emilia
Hi @emiliazhied,
Regarding your first question, it’s not possible to increase the percentage of records where this is populated. The HubSpot insight features is binary: on or off. (There aren’t any options for the confidence level for this information which could be decreased to populate more records.)
If you want to enrich records with industry information, you’d have to look into third-party solutions, like Zoominfo. These come with additional license costs.
Regarding your second questions, yes, this is possible. If you have access to workflows, you could re-assign values, e.g. enroll companies when Industry = “Architecture and Planing” or “Architecture_and_Planning”, then set property value of Industry to “Architecture”. This would be an ongoing automatic solution.
Without workflows, you would have to do this manually by bulk editing. On the company index page (Menu > Contacts > Companies), you would filter for companies where Industry = “Architecture and Planing” or “Architecture_and_Planning”, then bulk edit the property value of Industry to “Architecture”.
Let me know if you have follow-up questions!
@emiliazhied the company data you’re describing comes from the thousands (or more) of companies that HubSpot has data on in their database. That industry property is kind of huge and a bit messy. I’ve worked with clients who want to use their own “indusrty” definitions because of that, and because their labels are just different. In addition to what @karstenkoehler mentioned, I’d consider whether you want your own industry custom property along with the HubSpot one, using yours to pair it with something like Zoominfo for business intelligence and research. If you have specific industries, this could be a dropdown menu of pre-dtermined labels, making it easier to segment.
