How to enroll a contact in multiple sequences & workflows?

Our company uses Hubspot as our CRM, and the marketing emails and CS ticket system works quite well for us.

One thing that we are struggling with is sequences and workflows.

We send out automated updates via email to all our clients on a weekly and monthly basis. This requires contacts to be enrolled in multiple active sequences and workflows at a time.

Is this possible? How could we achieve this automations?

Hi @DKlopper,

A contact can only be enrolled in one sequence at a time. This cannot be bypassed and there aren’t any workarounds to this within the sequences tool.

With workflows this is a different story. Contacts can be enrolled in as many workflows as you want simultaneously.

You can achieve this automation by following the steps here: Create workflows

Simply create one workflow, finalize it, publish it, then continue with the next one. The main challenge is making sure that contacts don’t receive too many emails.

The more context you provide, the more detail I can add to my solution.

@karstenkoehler thanks so much! Can you tell me a bit more about the function of linking a workflow to a sequence? What is the purpose of this?
As it currently stands, we’ve been creating workflows using lists, branches and filters, which move down to enrolling contacts in a sequence which has an email template attached.

If we don’t include the sequence and instead use the “send email” function in the workflow will this achieve our desired affect?

I’d also like to know if we are able to create a delay with in the workflow to a specific date each month - for example to be sent out on the second of each month?
I’ve attached some screenshots that might give you a better idea of what we’ve working with.

@karstenkoehler We were creating enrollment triggers around the sequence and lists we have:

Sequences are meant to get a contact to reply or to book a meeting, see here: Unenroll contacts from a sequence

They’re sent from the sales persons inbox and not meant for nurturing or updates, as a single reply would stop that nurturing or stop the updates.

In other words, sequences and marketing emails have entirely different purposes. Marketing emails will be sent from a connected sending domain and continue sending by default, regardless of reply or meeting activity.

Your attached email looks like an update, so it would be better to send it as an automated email, not a sequence: Send automated emails in workflows

Generally yes, it’s just that the email is not coming from the sales persons inbox but is sent via a connected sending domain: Manage your email authentication

You can then still specify that the sender of that email should be displayed as the contact owner.

With Operations Hub Professional and scheduled workflows, yes. Without that subscription, no: Set 'Based on a schedule' workflow enrollment triggers

Best regards!

Thank you!
One last question: I’ve been playing around with the automated email
function which in general i think will work.
My only concern is that when I look at the settings, the only subscription
type I can choose is “Recart Inbound” as it’s a “marketing email”.
These specific emails are not marketing, as you say they are updates. Many
of our contacts may not be subscribed to marketing communication, but will
be subscribed to receive these sorts of updates. How can I make sure the
correct people receive the emails using automated emails linked to
workflows?

Previously we were creating enrollment triggers around the sequence and lists we have:

Hi @DKlopper,

You can set up additional subscription types, if needed: Set up email subscription types

For example, if you create a product updates subscription type, you could automatically use a workflow to assign an opt-in for that subscription type for all customers.

That’s how one would typically go about this.

@karstenkoehler thanks so much for all of your quick and helpful assistance! Appreciate it :slightly_smiling_face:
