How to Connect personal email

Hello Community,

I am a very basic beginner in HubSpot, please mind my own ignorance :wink:

I am trying to link my email inbox such that any email received or sent using any email client is (1) creating a matching contact, and (2) listing activity.
In order to do this, I did go to Settings > General > Email and I did successfully link my (Google) email account. I also added an email alias.

The status is shown as Enabled and the Inbox Automation is activated :check_mark:.

So far, nothing shows up in HubSpot. Is there something else I should do ?

you are almost there.

I’ll also suggest that you install the sales extensions for your gmail/outlook

for a better experience outside HubSpot.

If I understand properly from the documentation you linked, the requirement is that (1) the original email is sent through HubSpot, or (2) I should use the extension/add-in.
This means that i.e. email sent from my phone will never be logged because it is not sent from within HubSpot and the Chrome extension is not applicable to my Android phone email app.

I sort of understand that the alternative is use the BCC address for all outgoing emails I send, and to use the forwarding address for all emails I receive, is this correct ?

Hey

Yes, you can send from gmail/chrome or from HubSpot.

If you are using it from the phone you can always use the BCC address to get you send emails logged .
