Hello from New Zealand !
I hope everyone is doing well.
I’m trying to connect my www sub domain to hubspot as a primary domain.
I’ve got as far as these instructions:
"It looks like this domain already has an SSL certificate from another provider. Click here to confirm you own this domain so you can continue the setup process.
If you’ve already clicked the link in your email to confirm ownership, refresh this page to look for a message indicating that your ownership has been confirmed. It may take a few minutes for this message to appear."
I click the “click here” and get these instructions:
SEND VERIFICATION EMAIL
"To set up SSL for www.discoverynz.com, you’ll need to confirm you own discoverynz.com.
A verification email will be sent from support@certvalidate.cloudflare.com to the owner of this domain.After you click the link in the email, come back to your Settings > Domains to finish the setup process."
I click send verification email and I wait. And I wait more… very patiently.
It’s been an hour so far. I don’t think I’ll recieve this email. I’ve checked junk and every other mail box.
Is there another way to confirm I own this domain? Or another soultion this little challenge?
If someone can help that would be incrediable !!!

Firstly, looks like you’ve set up the SSL (Security Certificate) correctly for www. If I click on the padlock – next to the url – it says it’s valid.
I recommend you redirect your root domain (non-www) to the www. If I go to https://discoverynz.com/ (with the “s”) it fails. However, if I go to http://discoverynz.com/ (without the “s”) it redirects correctly to the secure www site.
In answer to your question, you can’t always see the details of who owns the domain name. Most Domain Registrars hide your contact details for privacy.
Your domain is registered with 1st Domains. I recommend you log into 1st Domains to check you have your name an email address as the Registrant (owner). You can have other people for the Technical Contact or Admin Contact. But, you should always be the Resgistrant. If you aren’t any of those Contacts you technically don’t own the domain name.
For Kiwi domains (.co.nz etc.) you can see everything at Domain Name Commission NZ Website.
If you haven’t already I also recommedn you set up Google Search Console to help you monitor any potential issues on your site.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it. I’ve spoken to Hubspot support today and got it sorted. They gave me some CNAME reords to add to my DNS settings. We’ll all go now!
Thanks for pointing out the redirect issue with the https:// failing. I’ve spoken to 1stdomains and they cannot help with this unfortuantely. I’ll speak to hubpost to see if they have any ideas.
Yes, I have google search consule set up.

In 1st Domains you can add a “301 Redirect” for the Root Domain (non-www) pointing to the www. You do NOT want cloaking.

Ironically, 1st Domains haven’t set up their SSL on their support URL.
