I’ve recently sent an email blast - and unfortunately had a high bounce rate. How do I bulk remove these emails from the list?
Hi @MariaDP!
From the email’s Performance you can select the Receipients tab and then Bounced. Then look for the Action drop down and make a list of those who Bounced. Use this list in future email sends as a Supression list.
Hi @MariaDP,
HubSpot will automatically exclude hard bounce contacts from future email sends. If you’re concerned about them bouncing again, HubSpot will prevent that for you.
If you want to find all of these contacts and review / delete / exclude still, you would simply filter for the contact property “Email hard bounce reason is known”.
As a general tip, tools like Zerobounce, Verifalia, Emailhippo, Neverbounce will check before an email send if contacts will likely bounce.
Best regards
Hi @MariaDP ,
HubSpot automatically excludes contacts who have hard bounced from future marketing emails, so there’s no need to worry about them receiving emails again.
If you’d like to manually review, delete, or exclude these contacts:
-
Go to Contacts > Lists.
-
Click Create list and select Active list.
-
Set the filter:
- Property: Email hard bounce reason
- Condition: is known (to capture all hard bounces), or select specific bounce reasons.
-
Save the list and allow it to populate.
You can now use this list as a suppression list for future email campaigns to avoid targeting hard-bounced contacts.
If you’d like to enrich the data, you can export the list and use third-party tools for validation. Alternatively, if you’re cleaning up your portal, you can permanently delete these records from HubSpot.
@ArisudanTiwari why are you rephrasing my replies and publishing as your own? Flagged with the community team, I expect you to stop immediately.
Hi @karstenkoehler ,
I’m not sure how this falls under copywriting issues. The process I shared is a simple, standard one available in HubSpot, and I have clearly outlined the steps along with screenshots. How is this against the community guidelines?
Also, the HubSpot property names and filters are the same for everyone, so how can you say I’m copying your response? I have provided detailed information, steps, and supporting screenshots from my own account.
If you personally have an issue with me, perhaps it’s best I leave the community. I feel I have been unfairly targeted repeatedly, accused of AI usage, plagiarism, or questioned on solutions I provide. This is becoming too much.
Thank you!!![]()
@MariaDP I apologize for hijacking this thread – if you do have any follow-up questions about your original query and hard bounces in HubSpot, please do let me know. I hope you can ignore this off-topic discussion, my side of which will end with this reply.
@ArisudanTiwari I’m not targeting you and I welcome useful contributions to the community. They make the HubSpot ecosystem a better place. I simply won’t accept others plagiarizing my contributions.
Mine: “HubSpot will automatically exclude hard bounce contacts from future email sends.”
Yours: “HubSpot automatically excludes contacts who have hard bounced from future marketing emails”
Mine: “If you want to find all of these contacts and review / delete / exclude”
Yours: “If you’d like to manually review, delete, or exclude”
Identical structure of answer (basic behavior, recommendation for filter, recommendation for third-party tools).
Mine: “If none of the two emails has been sent”, “If one email has already been sent”, “If both emails have already been sent”
Yours: “If neither email has been sent”, “If one email has already been sent”, “If both emails have already been sent”
Overall identical structure of answer.
