Especially if you’re a new grad looking to break into the field. Almost everyone wants to be a social media expert but they never get it right. There’s a hack though, apprenticeship or interning.
I got my start in marketing through an accident. I created a “Groupon for small business” that morphed into a digital marketing agency. I moonlighted and worked with contractors to get the work and learned along the way.
When I look at my journey it was a series of fortunate accidents and mentorship that truly helped me.
At Glance, I decided that we need to invest in newbies breaking into marketing and giving them a chance to succeed.
I connected with Acadium as a way of hiring marketing associates that could be mentored, but I was initially skeptical. After a couple of false starts, we found Zoe Ramsey who has turned into our social media lead.
