Hello, I am helping a company build a redesigned website for one of several brands they own, which are all separate practices. They want this new website built in their HubSpot account, and it appears they have a multi-brand account. I want to check before I start building pages that I can build this one website and later connect its domain URL to the new pages, even though it would not be the primary domain associated with the account. I’ve found plenty of documentation and how-tos on building a new site and how to connect the primary domain, and maybe I’m overthinking it, but I want to ensure a multi-brand account can point to multiple domain names/websites.
Thank you!

Hi @AMonroe,
HubSpot CMS is theme-based, and each page (even under the same domain) can use different themes and branding.
Your project is entirely possible. You can build the website on the primary domain or use HubSpot’s staging domain, then transfer everything to the new domain once it is connected.
If you need help with the domain connection steps, just let me know.
Hi @AMonroe
Yes, you can definitely build a dedicated website for one brand within a multi-brand HubSpot account, even if its domain isn’t the primary one. The key is to treat that brand’s site like its own project within HubSpot. You can build out the pages normally, then connect that brand’s domain as a secondary domain (not the main one for the account). Once that’s done, you can assign specific pages to this domain, so the final experience feels like a completely separate website to visitors. If your plan includes Business Units, that can also help keep branding, analytics, and assets neatly organized by brand. Just be mindful when it comes to shared assets like forms or CTAs you’ll want to keep those cleanly separated if each brand has different goals. You don’t need to switch the primary domain to make this work just connect the new domain, build your pages, and publish them under the right domain when you’re ready.
Thank you so much for your response. From what I read, I thought a secondary domain would read like “www.secondary.primarydomainname.com” - but it would be just the actual domain name only? (“www.secondary.com”)
Absolutely, you’re thinking in the right direction — and it’s great that you’re confirming this before building.
Yes, in a HubSpot multi-brand account, you can definitely build a standalone website for one of the brands and later connect it to a unique domain URL — even if it’s not the primary domain for the HubSpot account.
HubSpot allows you to host multiple brand domains, each functioning as its own website, provided your account has one of the following subscriptions:
Content Hub Enterprise
Marketing Hub Enterprise
Service Hub Enterprise
With Content Hub Enterprise, you can host up to 10 brand domains. You can also purchase a Domain Limits Increase or the Brands Add-on (for Marketing Hub Enterprise) if you need more. To purchase add-ons, you’ll need to contact your Customer Success Manager or HubSpot Sales.
How to Add a Brand Domain
You can add a new brand domain using one of two methods:
If you have the Brands Add-on:
Go to Settings ( icon) in your HubSpot account
Navigate to Content > Domains & URLs
At the top under Current view, select your brand
In Brand domains, click Add a brand domain
If you don’t have the Brands Add-on:
Go to Settings > Content > Domains & URLs
Scroll to the Advanced Options section
Click Add brand domain under the Brand domains section
From there, you can start building out the new site under that brand domain using pages, templates, and modules — all without affecting your primary domain.
Just note: brand domains are separate from company branding settings like logos and favicons, which are managed elsewhere in the account.
Also, if you don’t have an Enterprise account, you can use secondary domains. You can create these pages in the staging environment, and when you’re ready to publish, just connect the desired domain and publish.
Thank you so much for the confirmation and information - very helpful to take back to my client and verify. Appreciate it!
