I recently signed up for a account on hubspot. I created the website and added a custom domain to it. I messed up many of the settings while setting it up so I deleted the account. I created a new account with the same email id but when I couldnt connect the website to the same domain name. How long does it take for the custom domain to unlink from deleted account?

@NM23 did you fully remove the website from the deleted account before you deleted it?
In the new account, have you configured the CNAME records and are getting an error that it’s connected elsewhere?
@Jnix284 No I removed all the pages but the domain was left like that in the old account.

@NM23 can you share a screenshot of the process flow you’re going through to connect the domain and where the error is happening?
It’s hard to say if this is on the HubSpot side or if you haven’t completed the steps in your DNS settings without seeing where you’re at.
I feel the account has been deleted but somewhere the record for this domain has remained on the database. Everything related to the old account has not been deleted.

per your other comment, I think you’re correct - the domain wasn’t removed from the old account before it was deleted.

I have this issue, I deleted and tried to reconnect and it says it is hosted elsewhere. What can I do?
@mrfimbi I recommend creating your own post to ask for help, when you reply to an existing thread only those on the thread can find it easily and this is over a year old so others wouldn’t come across it easily.
