To prepare for presentations, I tailor all flow to the buyer’s needs and how I am best positioned to help them
I prepare my presentation based on their specific needs and requirements — customizing it around the problems and concerns they’ve shared with me, so the pitch feels tailored to exactly what they want, not generic.
Before every sales presentation, I review the prospect’s goals, challenges, and industry so I can tailor the presentation to their specific needs. I prepare relevant examples, anticipate common objections, and focus on demonstrating value rather than just explaining features. Going in with a clear structure and confidence helps create a more engaging and productive conversation.
Researching the buyer, figuring out what they really need and who they are. If you learn about them on a personal level then you can do a better job of mirroring them, and asking the questions that hit their biggest pain points.
I have a proper booklet that is already customized to them which includes a recap of our previous talks, summary of the benefits of going with my product, a timeline of next steps, etc. This visual presentation has proven to be super helpful to keep the lead engaged and present what I want to talk to them about in an easy to understand way.
In the end every presentation ought to look like you are helping the prospect make an informed buying decision that eliminates consequences and not just trying to sell them a product/services that doesn’t mitigates or completely solve their specific problem.
By the time we sit down with a customer for the presentation, we should already have gathered around 90% of the information about their challenges, requirements, budget, and expectations. In my real estate experience, whenever I met a customer for the second time and had to present suitable options, I made sure I was fully prepared. I had detailed knowledge of the project I was pitching, as well as the competing projects in the surrounding area.I would understand the amenities and facilities being offered, compare our project with other available options, and identify our competitive advantages. The per-square-foot rates of our project and competing projects would also be compared to give the customer a clear understanding of what they are getting for their investment. This comparison would highlight the features, amenities, location advantages, and overall value being offered at each price point.
Most importantly, I would clearly explain what value and benefits the customer would receive by investing in our project, and why our project would be a better fit for their specific needs and budget. This approach allows the presentation to be based on the customer’s actual needs rather than simply presenting a project. It helps build trust, handle objections more effectively, and position the right investment as a solution to the customer’s requirements.
